The Seizure
A hero is a person who has a lot of courage to help rescue somebody. A hero can be anyone good, bad, fat skinny, dumb, and smart. I was a hero once when I had to save my little cousin. He had a seizure. He was playing in the park.
He was on the swing and he used to jump off the swings, like a little stunt. I was playing basketball when it happened. So he jumps out and hit the ground back first and it was funny. So I continued playing basketball.
A little bit later one of my friends said Jurell, your cousin’s not getting up. I ran over where he fell and when I looked at him, I knew he had a seizure. I picked him up and took him back to the house. I got a cold glass of h2o and poured it over his face.
When he woke up, I called my Mom and told her what happened. She rushed home and my older brother was with her. She took him to the hospital and the doctor said he had the seizure from the heat. He said I did a good job of keeping him cool. I didn’t even know what I was doing.
It was hot that day, I say it was a summer day. We lived in an apartment complex at the time. I gain a lot of trust with my cousin and life expertise. That’s the story on how I was a hero.
